the clip holds 6 "bullets", which are functional. the bullet has a shell casing that you insert the orange tips into, which click into place and are spring loaded. then when you pull the trigger, it fires the orange tip out a fair distance, and ejects the shell out of the top of the gun as it slides back while firing. they give you a bunch of extra orange tips since they'll probably ricochet and get lost easily. occasionally the gun will jam, but it's an easy fix. i kinda wish the bullets were a smaller caliber so you could fit more, because you go through the clip in a couple seconds. glad i got 2 of them so i can fire both at once. i intended to take them apart and spray paint them a darker color, but now i don't want to risk damaging them.
